TECH HIGHLIGHT: OUR EPS SURFBOARDS IN 66464!

For the EPS construction of our surfboards we choose durability with 3 layers of fiberglass on the deck and 2 layers on the hull!

The 3 layers of fiberglass that make up the deck of our EPS surfboards are respectively 6 Oz, 6 Oz and 4 Oz. For the hull, there is a layer of 6 Oz fiberglass and a layer of 4 Oz, which defines an overall composition of 66464.

A synthetic formula that indicates a very durable construction, far from being the norm on a market where many manufacturers limit it to 646 (two layers on the deck and one on the hull). A lost opportunity in our view as one of the qualities of an EPS construction is to be quite light, which makes it possible to load the envelope with fiber while maintaining a great deal of lightness.

Also note the particularly solid frame of the 66464 construction which implies an overlap of the layers on the rails. There are therefore 5 very wide layers on the rails which constitute a very resistant frame. Besides, our EPS boards have a wooden stringer for even more resistance, which is generally not the rule for an EPS construction with most manufacturers.

An EPS 66464 construction is a must for stress-free commitment in hollow waves. It is also a good insurance on far away surf trips where you want to avoid unpleasant misfortunes. Just like our crew who charged for 10 days in a row on the beaches of Brazil in solid conditions without damaging a single board!

The EPS 66464 technology in details:

100% Epoxy resin over 28kg/m3 Polystyrene foam blank.

Wood Stringer, high quality and 3-5mm for limiting folding.
Deck detail : 2 layers of 6oz fiberglass plus 1 layer of 4oz.
Hull detail : 1 layer of 6oz fiberglass plus 1 layer of 4oz.
Reinforcements : a large patch of fiberglass covers the tail and the fin boxes.
Rail detail: 5 layers of deck + hull overlap with wide strips.
Pre-shape by digital control, and shape controlled by traditional templates, 100% hand finished.
Mat finish for a better glide, less sensitive to scratching, comp look.
This techno is easily repairable, most notably with UV Resin.
Hydrophilic foam blank that will oblige you to get out of the water quickly in case of damage.
Foam blank will melt if in contact with Acetone or Polyester Resin. Epoxy Only.
Excellent blend for the best solidity/dynamism/weight while keeping in the forefront the characteristics of the shape.
Resin that is 6 times more dynamic than Polyester.
These boards are produced in China in the most experienced and specialized surfboard factory.
